Extrusions

Kaiser Aluminum’s innovative technology allows the automotive designer to create an exact shape from a single piece of quality aluminum, rather than producing multiple components. This technology reduces cost and time. Many automotive parts can be produced with this method as aluminum extrusions.
Parts include door frames, anti-lock brake systems, master cylinders, steering columns and bumpers, to name a few. Today, automotive engineers are creating cars and trucks around entire space frame concepts of extruded aluminum, significantly reducing vehicle weight and improving fuel efficiency. We offer manufacturers design assistance, structural analysis, and complete fabrication and finishing, if desired.
6005
6005 is a magnesium alloy typically used in welded structures, pressure vessels and bulk carrier applications. 6005 has good corrosion resistance and good weldability.
6041 - Soft Alloy
6041 is a lead-free alternative to 6262. The alloy offers very good machinability along with good corrosion resistance. It also has excellent coating acceptance (anodize response). It can be used in place of 6262. Physical and mechanical properties are equivalent to 6262.
6061
Medium strength structural alloy with good corrosion resistance for transportation (auto, truck, trailer, rail), highway bridge railing and signs, building and construction, welded structures.
6063
Magnesium/Silicon alloy. One of the most popular of the Heat Treatable alloy group. Products include Extruded and Drawn Tube, Pipe, Rod, Bar and Profiles. Good corrosion resistance, good weldability and good anodizing response.
6082
Silicon/Manganese/Magnesium alloy. Products include Extruded Tube, Rod, Bar and Profiles.Typically used in Structural applications requiring higher mechanical properties and good corrosion resistance.
7003
Medium strength alloy for motorcycle and bicycle frames, automotive bumper reinforcement beams, good welded joint strength.
401-C
Medium strength alloy with good machinability for manifold blocks and applications requiring deep drilling.
